ED2 runs for the last 10 minutes of Episode 24 so there is a lot of overlap. We finally get to see a uncensored version of the kiss from the OP which is a bit odd since the main pair do kiss more than once during the anime.
Not so subtle reminder about the swimsuit episodes? Heh…
The last part of ED2 is actually the OP but this time they actually show the kiss behind the heart graphic…

The change in character designs is from the light novels which were illustrated by Toshiyuki Satō. He is credited as the original character designer for the anime. I prefer the anime artwork.
Thoughts
This last set of episodes ramps up the drama from from the previous set of episodes. Fortunately, the creators leave enough time for some last bits of fanservice and a Good End and a nice send-off for the main characters.
It’s a wrap, folks. Venus to Mamoru was a fun but inconsistent ride. At times the fanservice delivered (but not nipples) but at times, it just teased away. But the visuals held up well even though it’s an older show. Too bad it’s a DVD only release. Might look pretty good in BD even without nipples…
Ayako looks great in a white bikini. And white panties. As expected. What a great body she has…
Emelenzia is a swell loli. She’s a lot stronger and courageous than you might think.
Nice to see more kissing from the main couple. Newer anime shows could learn a lesson or two.
It’s a shame the anime got away from panty shots for long stretches at a time. Venus to Mamoru is much better with panty shots than without them.
The visuals for this older anime continue to be pleasing. I had fun making stitches and webms.
I happen to like older anime shows but they are not for everybody. They can be dated, a mixed bag and not HD to boot.
Venus to Mamoru is a mixed bag. There are a lot of elements that I like but some I’m not crazy about like shōta. At least Mamoru doesn’t act like a little kid. He just looks like one. Especially next to Ayako who is tall and well developed for her age.
I really like how they don’t mess around with the romance part of this anime. Ayako confesses early in the first episode and they become an official couple in the second episode. Would be nice if newer shows would learn not to drag out the romance for what seems like forever.
I also really like the character designs and artwork for Venus to Mamoru. Still looks pretty good 10+ years later.
What a swell character design for Ayako. Tall, slender, athletic with all the curves in all the right places. Including oppai. Ayako is a hidden oppai kind of girl. They are bigger and better than they look under her clothes. Plus there’s something to be said for long blue hair.
